Banos de Agua Santa, TungurahuaThe Foundation Arte del Mundo is located at 30 minutes from Baños de Agua Santa, is a beautiful mountain town in Central Ecuador, just south of the equator, sitting at the base of Volcan Tungarahua. It is known for its beautiful sceneries, abundant greenery, and natural hot springs. The city is at an elevation of approximately 6,000 ft (1,800 m). The temperature year round is between 65 and 85 degrees (18 to 29 celcius).
There is a diverse selection of restaurants, making it easy to accommodate all diets. The locals are welcoming and friendly, and are always glad to help out. The local currency is USD, and Spanish is the native language, although many people know some English. All necessary amenities can be found in Banos. There are several hospitals and clinics, a post office, banks with ATM's, and several travel agencies. Transportation is easy and inexpensive. Local AdventuresBanos is a place of adventure for all. There are many different hikes ranging from one to eight hour, leaving from the city. There are various SPAs and thermal baths, as well as many massage parlors.
For the more adventurous, the choices are many: whitewater rafting, climbing, horseback riding, canyoning, kayaking, bungy jumping, ATVs, mountain biking and amazing zip lines.
