Banos de Agua Santa is a beautiful mountain town in Central Ecuador. Its population is beneath 20,000 inhabitants. It is known for its beautiful sceneries, abundant greenery, and natural hot springs.
There is a diverse selection of restaurants, making it easy to accommodate all diets. The locals are welcoming and friendly, and are always glad to help out.
Although the local currency is USD, bills bigger than $20 often aren't accepted. All necessary amenities can be found in Banos. There are several hospitals and clinics, a post office, banks (ATMs accept any card with a chip), and many travel agencies.
Although most people know a little English, Spanish is a must to fully exchange with the local people. However, you will have many opportunities to practice your Spanish, during our Intercambios for example.

Banos is a place of adventure for all. There are many different hikes ranging from one to eight hour, leaving from the city. There are various SPAs and thermal baths, as well as many massage parlors.

Nature lovers will also find their fill. Jungle tours are offered by most travel agencies and range between a day to a week. There are also options of jungle "resort" camping, operated by the Swiss Bistro.
Nightlife in Banos is very active, especially on weekends, as many people gather in the streets of the town throughout the night, and meet up to dance in some of the many night clubs and salsatecas.
